Introducing "Bloom Local"

"Bloom Local" Initiative Will Foster Civic Pride and Community Connections

Princeton, NJ – March 12, 2024: Experience Princeton, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and promoting all of Princeton, New Jersey, through placemaking, marketing, and economic development, is proud to announce the launch of the "Bloom Local" campaign. This collaboration between Experience Princeton and the Municipality of Princeton, running March 19-May 26, 2024, will celebrate the arrival of spring while fostering civic pride, kindness, and community.

“Spring is a time of renewal and growth, and the Bloom Local campaign embodies the spirit of local pride and community connection that defines Princeton. Through this initiative, we hope to inspire residents and visitors alike to take good care of our home, engage in acts of kindness, and actively participate in shaping the future of our community.”

— Isaac Kremer, Executive Director of Experience Princeton

Bloom Local will encourage collaboration and mutual support among Princeton organizations and businesses. Confirmed events and activities include:

A Photo Contest: Members of the community will be invited to submit photos of springtime in Princeton, with the community voting on the winner.

Business Awards: The Princeton Municipal Council will recognize local businesses that create a welcoming, clean, and friendly environment for residents and visitors.
The Outdoors and Nature: The Shade Tree Commission will give out tree saplings at Porchfest, a free, outdoor walkable and accessible music festival in late April.

Art activations: The Arts Council of Princeton will create a mural along Spring Street starting in mid-March. We’ll also feature works from the Princeton Makes Artist Cooperative.

Flower arrangements: Created for local businesses in collaboration with the Garden Club of Princeton.

“Bloom Local will highlight the strong ties among Princeton residents, Municipality staff, and our business community. I’m excited to see all the unique ways participants will embrace the spirit of spring and create a vibrant and welcoming community for all.”

— Michelle Pirone Lambros, Princeton Councilmember
