Charbellem, Fashion-Forward Boutique, to Open Store On 33 Witherspoon Street in Princeton

Princeton, NJ, May 22---Charbellem, a Princeton-based company offering an exceptional collection of women’s clothing and accessories, opened its doors on Wednesday, May 24 at 11 am in a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony presided over by Princeton Mayor Mark Freda. The new store is located at 33 Witherspoon Street. Experience Princeton, a Special Improvement District (SID) dedicated to promoting Princeton through marketing and economic development, welcomed the town's newest retailer as an example of Princeton's  growing attraction for entrepreneurs and the new markets they open.

Launched in 2007 by fashion professional and Princeton resident Sabra Albert, Charbellem is an original boutique with a curated collection of designers. The Colorado native draws on her 20 years in sales and marketing with the Ralph Lauren Corporation in forging Charbellem’s unique aesthetic. “We’re inspired by high-low dressing and modern luxury – imaginatively mixing dressy clothes with casual sports apparel,” Sabra explains.

Charbellem brings an authentic and sophisticated style – with a fashion-forward twist - to designs created for the active American lifestyle. That twist emerges in bold prints, a wide spectrum of colors, impeccable tailoring and on-trend details, intricate tops and a range of activewear. Clothes, jewelry and accessories are made with high-quality materials and designed to move seamlessly through the seasons.

The summer collection comes just in time for seasonal events from Memorial Day through September. “Our summer dresses, pants and tops are designed to go anywhere,” says Sabra. “They’re perfect for a wedding, brunch, the beach, parties, out to dinner and they are comfortable enough and sophisticated enough to wear while traveling." She also notes that the staff can help to plan an entire wardrobe for a vacation, trip or special event.

“We want to put the fun, lightheartedness and optimism back into local shopping,” says Sabra Albert. “I want to ensure that every customer leaves our store with something that she absolutely loves, that makes her look and feel fabulous!"

The company’s customer base is changing, indicating that Princeton has the potential to become a select shopping destination. “We are drawing customers from New York, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore,” Sabra Albert asserts. The pandemic generated an influx of new residents and families, further increasing Charbellem’s clientele.

Sabra Albert and her husband Sean reside in Princeton where they raised their three children- Annabelle, Charlotte and Willem – hence the name Charbellem. Says Sabra Albert, “The support and enthusiasm of the community and our friends has been extremely inspiring – it’s kept us going through the inevitable challenges of this kind of project. And. it’s a thrill to be part of the many new endeavors launching in Princeton.”
